7:35 Meeting called to order

Treasury report read and accepted

Announcement that there is a float fly at the public beach on the north end of Greenwood Lake on 9/25

New Business; Lakeland’s Executive Board has been active looking for a flying site. Questioned posed to the membership; Has anyone found anything that the Executive Board should look into further?
Manny Cougal – Found a dead end street behind condos near exit 15 of the NJ TPK.

Lakeland’s President has been negotiating with 2 parties, the Meadowlands Commission and a private sector individual for a flying site. If permission is given to use the site there is a stipulation that all flyers of fueled planes must use overflow tanks. The Meadowlands commission will be monitoring the property for spill contamination. A contract for use of the site is in lawyer review. Getting the trailer on site is presently up in the air but we are fighting to get it. This all came about when a lawyer for the Meadowlands Commission contacted us. We were directed to communicate with a private owner and his lawyer. Even though the agreement to use the property is with the private owner the Meadowlands Commission still oversees the development of the area involved. All materials, insurance papers, etc have been disclosed and given to the involved parties. There is a 5 year plan for the development of the area surrounding the site and it seems we are part of the plan. Unfortunately, the agreement to use the property is much the same as before with are flying sites. We have sole use of the property until other terms / needs arise. There will be no blacktop runways in the foreseeable future.
There is no movement on the E1 landfill and the area along Valleybrook will be all warehouses within 5 years, according to the “plan”.

Buzz stated his appreciation for a job well done.
President Carey offered Paul Swiderski the opportunity to speak concerning his new Heli club and flying site in the southeast corner of Overpeck Park. The flying site is small only suitable for helis, foamies and park flyers. Some of the park officials showed up and watch them fly and asked if they could put together a fun fly show in the Spring. Dues at this time are $25. initiation and $75. yearly dues.

Roy Lebarbara put a motion to move the nominations for the Executive Board to October and the election of the same to November. So we can keep the Club business separate from the Christmas party. It was 2nded by Jack Bonaccolta.

The Christmas party will be catered this year. Then on Jan 1 all participating in the AC trip will receive a $200 voucher.

Nominations for Executive Board must be in next month (Oct). Pres, Vice Pres, Treas, Sec.

Assuming we get the site and are allowed to move the trailer there, it needs to be refurbished. New floor, ceiling, front door, roof. We’ll be looking for help, volunteers. John Carey, Juan Cintron,

50 – 50 won by Lew Talone
